About Kuimba Tours
Kuimba was created from a lifelong passion for exploring Angola beyond the ordinary.
Built on years of travelling through remote regions, camping in the wilderness, and discovering places rarely seen by outsiders, the company was founded to share a more authentic side of Angola with the world.
Rather than offering standard tourism experiences, Kuimba Tours focuses on meaningful journeys that connect travelers with Angola’s landscapes, wildlife, cultures, and people.
The company works with individual travelers, international travel agencies, photographers, researchers and filmmakers, creating experiences that range from short getaways to extended expeditions across the country.
At its core, Kuimba Tours is about showing the real Angola — raw, diverse, beautiful, and unforgettable.
How it all started
I was born and raised in Luanda, a place shaped by the echoes of a country at war. While many saw only destruction, my parents did something extraordinary — they showed us Angola.
Even during dangerous times, we travelled across the country, driving through destroyed roads, mined areas, and towns still scarred by war, while camping out in nature.
It was during those journeys that something was born inside me.
Among unique landscapes, rivers, mountains, wildlife, and the silence of nature, I began to see Angola differently. Even before tourism truly existed in the country, I was already discovering the hidden magic in every corner of this land.
Later, I entered the world of tourism… and that’s when everything made sense. I realized that my purpose was to show Angola through the eyes of someone who witnessed its rebirth. That is why I made the most important decision of my life — I left my job as a guide to dedicate myself entirely to Kuimba.
I don’t just want to take people to discover Angola.
I want to share stories, emotions, reality. To reveal the raw and authentic beauty of this incredible country, from the perspective of someone who grew up living in one of the most extraordinary, genuine, and unexplored countries in Africa.
Angola is not just a place I know. It is my story, my home. And now, I want to share it with the world.
